CommonWell is being advised by two boards, a Public Policy Advisory Board (PPAB) and a User Advisory Board (UAB). Whereas the UAB advises the project and provides input on user related aspects the PPAB was set up towards helping the project to develop marketable innovative and cost-effective solutions and to identify opportunities for exploitation.

The members act both as advisors and quality assurance to the project and as liaison to the European and national level through their organization and networks.
