CommonWell Advisory Boards

CommonWell is being advised by two boards, a Public Policy Advisory Board (PPAB) and a User Advisory Board (UAB). Whereas the UAB advises the project and provides input on user related aspects the PPAB was set up towards helping the project to develop marketable innovative and cost-effective solutions and to identify opportunities for exploitation.

Adivisory Board

User Advisory Board

The needs and requirements of both end-users (such as older people and people with chronic diseases) and intermediary users (such as informal, social and medical carers) need to be thoroughly considered in a project like CommonWell. To achieve this, a User Advisory Board (UAB) was set up, consisting of representatives from European and national organizations concerned with user related aspects relevant to the project.

The members act both as advisors and quality assurance to the project and as liaison to the European and national level through their organization and networks. To be able to do this, the members receive regular updates on the project results and are invited to give their comments and input on project results.

The role of the UAB is to

  • Advise the project team and provide input on user related aspects in the form of dedicated contribution, as well as providing the project team with existing knowledge, in terms of relevant research reports and the like.
  • Inform others about the work progress and achievements of the project by dissemination among their own and related organizations.
  • Comment on input provided by the project partners (e.g. key deliverables, specifications, internal working documents).

Public Policy Advisory Board

Adequate integration of public authorities having responsibilities in the area of social care and healthcare is a crucial component when developing innovative services. The Public Policy Advisory Board (PPAB) was set up against this background and represents key organisations responsible for budget allocation in relation to supply of services for older people and people with chronic diseases.

The role of the PPAB is to:

  • Advise the project team in relation to national legislation and regulation that have to be considered when exploiting innovative solutions, including issues relating to reimbursement of costs.
  • Complement their expertise to project analysis of issues on regulation and legal aspects of technologies.
  • Help the project to develop marketable innovative and cost-effective solutions and to identify opportunities for exploitation.
  • Support the project in identifying (national) exploitation barriers.
